Hi! My name is Alison.
My family and friends call me Ali. I'm a true Floridian, born and raised in Central Florida! A few things I love....iced coffee, tacos, spending time with my family & friends, and desserts!! I've been an elementary school teacher for 17 years, but we're currently "on a break". (FRIENDS fans...you see what I did there?? 😆)
What's with the name?
Funny enough, the term "Alicakes" originally had nothing to do with cakes!
My college friend, Karen, started calling me Alicakes and it just stuck.
Now I'm living out the nickname IRL. 🥳
How'd you get started with cakes and decorating?
I was always the one to bring a "fun new dessert" to a holiday gathering. So there's that. lol My cake decorating journey began in 2017 when one of my besties, Amber, gifted me a Beginner's Buttercream class at JoAnn's. We went together and had a blast! I started making cakes for my family's birthdays and slowly, coworkers heard about my new hobby and started ordering cakes. By 2019/2020 I was teaching during the day and making cakes at night and on the weekends. Fast forward another year to July 2021 and I took a leave from teaching to try this cake thing full-time, and here we are!
